ACVO Awards 2016/17

31 March 2017

Aberdeen FC Community Trust (AFCCT) were delighted to take second place in the Connecting and Collaborating category at the AVCO Awards 2016/17.

The award nomination was in recognition of the current Footy Tea and Breakfast Club programmes.

AFCCT work in partnership with Seaton Primary School, Aberdeen FC, Sodexo Prestige and Aberdeen Sports Village to provide before and after school programmes for pupils at Seaton Primary School. The children receive weekly coaching sessions at Aberdeen Sports Village as well as having healthy home-cooked meals prepared by the club chef. After the Breakfast Club AFCCT coaches walk the children to school, making sure they get there safely.

Both projects run on a weekly basis and would not be possible without the help from fantastic partners, who all play a part in their success and the impact they make on the young people who participate.

Community Projects Officer Dean McBain said “To get this recognition for one of AFCCT’s core programmes is a great achievement for all partners involved with the programme. The young participants are always a great laugh and visibly seeing the difference that the programmes make is an achievement everyone should be proud of.”
