Aberdeen's 6th Annual Golden Games

31 May 2016

Aberdeen FC Community Trust is proud to be a partner of The Golden Games, Aberdeen's annual free festival of activities for people aged 65 and over.

The 6th Golden Games will take place from the 9th-17th June 2016 and is set to be the biggest and best games yet with everything from archery and Scottish country dancing to abseiling and golden oldies rugby, as well as a talk from AFC's very own Craig Brown. There will also be a number of dementia friendly activities available such as swimming and walking football.

The games, which have been nominated for a Scottish charity award, are held every year for older citizens in Aberdeen. It started with two days of activities in 2011 and has grown in popularity since, with people from all walks of life with different abilities getting involved.

A number of Aberdeen FC Community Trusts volunteers will be ambassadors for the games this year, which offers a taster of the activities that are carried on throughout the year around the city.
