Ricky Sbragia has announced a 23-player squad for Scotland’s forthcoming UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying matches against France and Iceland at Pittodrie Stadium next month.

The Dons striker Lawrence Shankland, who recently joined St Mirren on loan, is included in the squad.

Former Aberdeen winger Ryan Fraser has been included in the squad as he gets set to make his return to the north-east following his move to English Premiership side Bournemouth in 2013.

The 21-year-old, who netted the winning goal in Scotland’s 2-1 win over Northern Ireland earlier this month, is enjoying a loan spell in the English Championship with Ipswich Town and was recently named the Football League Young Player of the Month for August.

Another former-Don Declan McManus, now with Fleetwood Town, has been named in the squad.
