Ryan Jack on REDTV

27 February 2015

Birthday boy Ryan Jack spoke to RedTV this afternoon:

“In this league you need to show consistency and I think that is what we are doing at the minute. We know whoever we play a potential slap in the face is just around the corner so we have to keep taking it one game at a time and approaching every game properly and being as professional as we can.

“That next game is Celtic on Sunday. It is a very big game. It is getting a lot of attention. It is first versus second. We know it is a big game but this is the type of match you want to play in. It is good to test yourself against top opposition as an individual and as a team to see how far we have come.

“We know we have to go Glasgow and put in a very good performance. Anytime you play Celtic down there it is always a very difficult game.

“You have to try and keep ourselves in the game. As a player you have to concentrate very hard and make sure you are not dragged out of position because they have the players who will hurt you. You must not switch off. It is a big occasion and you must not let yourself get carried away. It is important we keep our heads and play the game right. When we do go forward it is important we pick the right pass. I feel with the players we do have in the team we can go there and create chances.

“It is a game all the boys in the dressing room are looking forward to. I certainly know myself you would rather play in a game like this that means so much for the team and the fans than play in a game at the bottom of the league or play in a game where nothing was at stake.

“I don’t think you can say this is a title decider. We are still a bit away from that. There is still a lot of points to play for and Inverness CT and Dundee United are still not that far behind as well. We are trying to catch Celtic whilst the teams behind us are trying to catch us. Whatever happens on Sunday, there is a lot of football to be played.

“There has not been any difference in training this week. Training is very competitive anyway with the squad we have got. There is always a good intensity and that is the way you want it.

“We have had a great run and we want to keep that going. The lads are playing with a lot of confidence so we have a lot going for us and there is a lot of positivity. Hopefully we can continue that and get another three points on Sunday.”
