Jonny Hayes & Andrew Considine on REDTV

30 December 2014

Andrew Considine and Jonny Hayes became the latest players to extend their deals at Pittodrie on Monday and they gave their reaction to REDTV on Tuesday

Andrew Considine

“I am absolutely delighted to have signed a new deal and to be staying here for another two and a half years. I have grown up with this club and be part of it since I was 11 or 12 so it is my life. I have not known anything else so I am delighted to part of things for another two years and hopefully part of something special with many more memories.

“It is a great time to be part of the club. There is a real buzz around the place. I feel the way things are panning out there is a lot to look forward to, the confidence is high and that is showing on a Saturday.

“During my time at the club there have been a few real lows, there have been a number of managers and a lot of players who have come and gone so it is great to get some continuity and consistency within the squad.

“A lot has changed.

“We have now got some fantastic players in our squad, we have got some great young boys at the club coming through and we have managed to keep hold of some really key players. The manager and Tony have done a great job in making this team better and we all want to strive for bigger and better
things.

“It is a busy period at the moment so the fact we have hit some form has come just at the right time. Hopefully we can get another good result on Thursday but we know it will be a very difficult game as St Johnstone are also in very good form.”

“It was an easy decision to make, signing the new deal. It was all done very quickly. The manager has got a long term contract and so do most of the team now.

“It is great the other boys are staying but this was an individual decision. I said yes as soon as I was asked. The direction the manager is pushing the club on and off the park is steadily coming along. It is not going to happen overnight but the club is moving in the right direction.

“My form on the park has probably come about because I am more relaxed. Also if you have got nine or ten good players round about you playing well then it makes things an easier. As a whole we have been fairly consistent this season but we have still to raise it a few levels if we want to get to where we want to be. We are happy where we are at the minute but there is more to come.

“Thursday will be a very tough game. Every time we play St Johnstone it is a very tough game. They go about their business quietly and they don’t get a lot of publicity but they have some very good players.”
