Peter Pawlett on RedTV

“The Celtic defeat was a hard to take and it was hard with the international break because we had a couple of weeks to dwell on it. However we have to try and take some positives from the performance. We did play well for large periods of the game, we held our own and deserved more out of it. We have to move on and try and put things right on Sunday.

“I thought when they had ten men we could kick on and win the game. It was especially disappointing to lose a goal to a set piece. We have looked back at it and the manager has spoken to us about it. It is always a learning process. We have to have the right mentality to go on and win those games. It is something we are getting better at but there is certainly room for improvement.

“Partick is not an easy place to go as they proved last season. We still remember that 3-1 defeat very well. We were on a very good run at the time but they played very well to beat us. They have some good players and it will be a difficult test.

“There are a few boys out on Sunday but it will be an opportunity for someone to come in and take their chance. Maybe someone who has not had an opportunity yet this season. I am not sure what the manager is going to do but it will still be a strong team.

“You see how well the U20s are doing, there is some real potential coming through and I am sure some of these boys will get their chance in the weeks and months ahead. My own form has been a bit up and down this season so I know I have to be a more consistent. I am still learning, as a player you are always learning to become a better player.

“We are now coming into a very busy period. It is an important time for us. At this stage last season we really kicked on and hopefully we can do the same this season.”
