Youth Advanced Academy Coaching

21 November 2014

The second Advanced Academy session took place last week with Under 20s & First Team Coach Paul Sheerin joining the group as the guest coach.

This new initiative launched earlier this season sees a small number of selected academy players invited to train together with a special guest to learn from.  Junior Academy players, Finlay Neat (Under 9s/10s), Nimi Faleye (Under 11), Calvin Ramsay & Lyall Booth (both Under 12s) were treated to a session from Paul Sheerin, focusing on midfield play with an emphasis on how to receive and movements to get on the ball.

Head of Junior Academy, Gavin Levey said ‘It was great having Paul along to pass on some of his knowledge to the young players.  His level of detail was excellent and the lads responded really well and you could see they wanted to impress him when they returned to their squads for matches late in the session.  We are delighted at the support the professional players and coaches are showing towards this initiative which is another incentive for the young academy players to work as hard as possible to be part of.’
