Dons starlet extends his stay at Pittodrie

28 July 2014

Teenage winger Scott Wright has signed a three year extension to his contract at Pittodrie that will see him remain at the Club until the summer of 2017.

The 16 year old from Balmedie made his first team debut earlier this month against Daugava Riga at Pittodrie and was a member of the Scotland Under 17 squad in June's UEFA European Championships in Malta.

Manager Derek McInnes commented. “I'm really pleased to fix Scott up on a long term deal. It's vital that we nurture the players who have come through our youth development system and they all know that, irrespective of their age, if they're performing at the required level, they will get a chance to be part of a successful Aberdeen side.”

Scott has been allocated squad number 39 for the season.
