Redmatchday | Programme Of The Year Award

31 March 2014

for season 2013/14

RedMatchday Magazine has won the Scottish Programme of the Year award sponsored by Programme Monthly & Football Collectable. The Scottish Programme of the Year Awards is in its 41th season and Aberdeen have now won the title for the top division in Scotland for the last 13 years.

Graeme McGinty of Programme Monthly said “Aberdeen were the clear winners again in the Scottish Premiership with a largely unrivalled in content and design. RedMatchday is a programme whose content and design oozes class. The balance between current and historical content is spot on with good use made of old newspaper scans, programmes and archive photographs, drawing you into the articles, whilst not being overpowered. The ‘Panini style’ pen pics are seen in other programmes, but it feels right at home here and the Paine Proffitt designed cover helps wrap up another Dons win. It would not look out of place at the top end of the awards down South.”

Thanks go out to all our regular contributors – Derek McInnes, Russell Anderson, Richard Gordon, Chris Crighton, George Rutherford, Ian Thomson, Sean Graham, John Mellis, Dave Macdermid, Dave Galloway and Ally Begg. Thanks also to our photographers – Derek Ironside, Ross Johnston and Michael Wachucik at Newsline Scotland, all the guys at SNS Pix, Angela Isac and Scott Baxter and a particular thank you to artist Paine Proffitt for his artwork which has again been used on the programme covers.

Thank you too to all the programme sellers who get each issue into your hands, more often than not braving the North East wintry weather.

We are especially grateful to all the Red Army members who continue to support the publication by buying it in large numbers.

The programme is produced by CurtisSport, designed by Mark Taylor at Bluechilli and edited by Malcolm Panton with historical content provided by Kevin Stirling.
