“Being drawn against Premier League opposition is always harder, especially away from home but we’ve had a couple of good victories against Partick in the league. In both games we’ve had to play well so something similar would be nice but nobody is going to gift it to us, we’ll need to work hard.

“We can only affect what’s going to happen going forward. We try to use any disappointment to spur us on. There had been alot good performances in the last couple of games from the players and to come away with nothing from both games is difficult to take. We’ve just got to make sure we do everything we can to get the result on Sunday. It’s a Cup game, it’s them or us going through to the next round and we want to make sure it’s us.

“Partick are a good side. I think the way they have played as a team has served them well. I think they have a lot of decent players who ask questions of the opposition, they really make you work. We’ve just got to make sure we’re ready to perform.

“It is a tough tie when you look at some of the other games.

“If we can play to a level we’re capable of we can win the game. That’s a great thing to have, to have that confidence and belief in your team. I look forward to watching my team, I am looking forward to the game. I am sure the players are exactly the same.

“Chris Clark is back playing and giving himself a chance to be involved. We’ll pick a squad for the game on Sunday that we feel can get the job done. There are still one or two injuries around the squad but we’re also getting one or two back. Willo Flood is still out and Jonny Hayes is touch and go to see whether he is fit and available. Barry comes back in following suspension.”

“It would be nice to get back on track and hopefully get a good run in the Scottish Cup. It’s massively important for a club like Aberdeen to get a good run in the Cup. We want to get as high as possible in the League but I feel we owe ourselves, the Club, the supporters a good run in the Cup. It would be great to win a Cup this year.

“The confidence is high within the squad. I feel we’ve got the players to do it this year but we will give full respect to Partick Thistle on Sunday. It’s going to be a really tough game but if we go in to the game in the right frame of mind we can hopefully come up the road with a win.

“I felt strongly this year a lot of the younger members of the squad have grown up this year with playing every week and having confidence instilled in them from the manager and Tony and I feel it’s given us a real a determination and confidence and it’s shown in the League and we just need to keep doing that in the Cup.

“If we just play our own game and if we can produce the same performances so far this season I think we’ll do well.”

“The good team spirit we have needs to come to the fore after you lose a few games. It is one of the closest dressing rooms I have been involved in. Everyone gets on and I think you will see that count over the next few weeks.

“I think the game will be a lot harder than some people are expecting. Although we have beaten them twice with two good wins they are a good side and have played well most of the season. Probably their worst two performances have come against us. They are able to play and I am sure they will be ready for us on Sunday. With it being a cup game it will be different anyway. They will come out and have a real go and I am expecting a tough game. We have to go down and play to the level we are capable of.

“In the last cup game we played against Motherwell in the League Cup I got sent off. It was the first sending off of my career at any level so it was not a nice feeling. I thought I was a bit unlucky as I got a bit of the ball but it is something I have learned from. I do not need to be making tackles like that.”
