Alzheimer Scotland Group Visit Pittodrie

The partnership between Scottish football and Alzheimer Scotland continues when Pittodrie Stadium hosted an afternoon of activities for a group of local Alzheimer sufferers.

A quiz and football reminiscences were on the agenda for the men taking part, with ex-Dons Duncan Davidson and Jimmy Wilson in attendance, with some pampering on offer for the women. Poignantly, the group gathered in the Teddy Scott Lounge within the Richard Donald Stand as AFC’s Head of Community explains.

“As all Aberdeen fans are aware Teddy, who sadly passed away last year, suffered from Alzheimer’s and consequently the charity is one very close to the Club’s heart. AFC in the Community are very pleased to be supporting Alzheimer Scotland in delivering their successful Football Reminiscences programme which has done so much good for many sufferers of the condition. AFC in the Community Coaches voluntarily assist with this programme and we will continue to work closely with Alzheimer Scotland moving forward. Alzheimer Scotland works with important members of our community and it is hoped that AFC’s involvement will help raise awareness and additional support for the excellent work that they do.”
