Soccer 7's
The Soccer 7's concept is becoming increasingly popular in the Aberdeen area, with more than 30 teams already registered to participate in the first block.The objective of Soccer 7's is;
"To promote the enjoyment of football for children, through playing small-sided games as detailed within these rules in an environment that fosters fair play and participation for all, irrespective of race, colour or religion and shall encourage co-operation, respect for others, loyalty, acceptance of rules and decisions, personal responsibility, self-discipline and the need for teamwork."
Soccer 7's run in concurrent with the school terms and is broken down into four blocks.The teams are broken down into two age's groups, namely P4/5s and P6/7s.These groups are further broken down and are banded on their ability later on. Fixtures for the current block can be found here.The Dons in the Community and an elected Committee endeavour to play teams of equal ability, to try and develop the children skills.
To register for the next block starting at the end of October, please send forms into the AFC Community Department at Aberdeen Football Club.
