London born Ifil started his career at Watford where he made his debut in the 2002-03 season. As of the start of the 2009-10 season he was Swindon's longest serving player but after impressing in as a trialist against Hull City in a pre-season friendly, on 12 August 2009, he signed for Aberdeen on a two-year deal. He made his debut in a 3-1 loss to Celtic on the opening day of the 09/10 SPL campaign, and the central defender picked up several man of the match awards with some very impressive performances for the club at the start of the season.
