Aberdeen v Hearts Preview
Derek McInnes Quotes |
"Another challenge ahead of us against a team we failed to beat down there earlier in the season. Being at home we want to take full advantage of that. We know we have to play well again. Performance levels have been good of late and it's given us a chance to win games. We're on a decent run, confidence is high within the team and the support and it's important we maintain that. It's hard to get that confidence so once you get it it's important you grab on to it and keep hold of it.
"It will be a battle on Saturday. I think even as recently as the cup game against Hibs it shows what can be done by them and they've shown enough spirit, combined with good players. Any team who rules them out as being easier opposition does so at their peril. We found that. They had enough spirit in their team and support in the stands to make it a difficult afternoon for us and I expect it to be difficult again on Saturday.
"I thought the quality of goals on Monday was excellent. They lit up the game. We showed enough quality with our goals and passage of play and I think on Saturday we might need that patience and understanding again. The noise level at the end of the game gave the side as they walked off was outstanding. We look for that support again throughout the 90 minutes. It's so important to the team. We know the support is right behind us.
"Chris Clark had a wee set back in terms of a tightness in his calf, perhaps down to the fact that he's been out quite a while and he's been pushing himself. Josh and Craig Murray are making good progress. Young Craig will be back in full training today which is a remarkable comeback from him. Josh will hopefully be back with us training middle of next week. The disappointing news is that Clark Robertson had an operation yesterday and will be out for 12 weeks with cartilage problem."
