Aberdeen led 3-0 at half time. The Dons have looked very sharp this afternoon and could have been even further ahead. They opened the scoring after on 3 minutes. From a cross field pass Chris Clark picked up the ball and he played in a great cross for McGinn to head home from about 5 yards. Chris Clark has been very impressive this afternoon playing in the full back spot. He set up the second when he played the ball down the wing for Pawlett. Peter then produced a great run and cross and found McGinn who netted his second. The third goal come from a long deep pass that Vernon ran onto and finished well.

In the second half McGinn completed his hattrick just before the hour mark. The home side were awarded a penalty just after that and Dons fan Russell Guild, whose testimonial it was stepped forward to beat Langfield. After that there were lots of chances and no more goals.

Clach missed pen 65 mins

Neil Cooper's young side produced another excellent victory this afternoon over a very well organised Highland League side in Inverness. In the first half the young Dons failed to find the net but played some good football. McManus and Shankland both had half chances and Clach also missed one good opportunity. The game continued to be very tight after the break and on 65 minutes the home side were awarded a penalty but they failed to convert. They were made to pay for the miss when on 71 minutes captain Stephen O'Neill swung in a corner which Scott Rumsby met brilliantly and headed home. Late on the Dons made the game safe when Declan McManus crossed from the left for summer signing Lawrence Shankland to score.
