Aberdeen FC is this morning deeply saddened to confirm that a true legend of the club Teddy Scott has passed away.

Teddy Scott brought down the curtain on a remarkable career, when he retired in August 2003 after serving the club for an astonishing 49 years. Following his playing career Teddy returned to become the Dons trainer, coach and eventually kit man, serving under well over a dozen Aberdeen managers during his Pittodrie career.

Chief Executive Duncan Fraser today led the tributes to Teddy:

"It is with tremendous sadness that I learned of Teddy Scott's death this morning. Teddy served the Club for 49 years in every capacity imaginable. Although Teddy retired some eight years ago he remained close to the Club and in particular Jim Warrender and Jim Crawford whom visited him regularly.

"Everyone at Aberdeen FC sends their deepest condolences to Teddy's family and friends"

The club will ensure that all floral tributes from supporters which have been placed here at Pittodrie as a mark of respect to Teddy will be passed to his family.
