"I can't say I was proud of the performance. I wasn't. We know we can play far better. Great credit to the fans for their continued support right to the end.
"We were dominant for the first half an hour but once Queen of the South scored from the penalty their tails were up. The home team put everything in to it. But we stole the goal at the end. I'm grateful for that.
"It was a story book finish for Andrew to come up and score the winner in the last minute. What we have in Andy is an Aberdeen supporter and no one deserves it more. This guy is the perfect example of a professional footballer. He does everything you ask him and more. He works hard in training and he is totally conscientious and his behaviour is impeccable. His enthusiasm for the club is there for everyone to see. I was so pleased for Andy and for the fans who came down.
"Queens got the break with the penalty that allowed them back into the game. I thought it was a bit soft. Youl spread his body and the ball hit him. They got encouragement from that and began to take the game to us. But to win away from home against a fighting team, with a depleted team, we had 10 players out and add Ryan Jack who we left out, we have still managed to get through to the next round of the cup and we are delighted about that.
"Ryan was left out for disciplinary reasons, it was a football decision that I made. The punishment is finished and he is back in contention for Sunday.
"Mitch Megginson had to come off today with a dead leg. With some ice and treatment it is curable and hopefully he will be available for the game on Sunday. Daniel came in and did ok. He had some nice touches but you could see he is not used to the Scottish game. You can see he has the ability but I would to get more from Danny in the weeks ahead.
"I don't think we are lucky to get through as we dominated the game at Pittodrie. We maybe did not dominate to the same extent here but you would not expect us to. To say we were lucky is a bit unfair.
"We are not proud of the performance. We are looking forward to the next round at Motherwell. We are delighted for the fans."
