Aberdeen boss Craig Brown launches emergency hunt for new signings in face of injury crisis

CRAIG BROWN last night revealed he has launched an emergency signing search in a bid to help Aberdeen cope with the worst injury crisis of his managerial career.

The Dons boss, who has an entire team sidelined, has ordered his scouts to find players to fill the gaps and maintain the club's revival.

The Pittodrie side have lost just once in 11 games to climb off the bottom into the top half of the SPL but Brown fears the run will hit the buffers unless new recruits are brought on board.

He said: "Even though the transfer window has closed we are doing all we can to identify suitable players because of our horrendous injuries which are the worst I have experienced in management.

"There's a chance another player could come in, especially now we have so many injuries. Our scouts are looking everywhere for potential signings as there are good free agents available."

Ozzy has to cool it

ABERDEEN midfielder Isaac Osbourne's desire to return to action has cost him a further MONTH on the sidelines.

Osbourne damaged a hamstring in last month's Scottish Cup win at Forfar and was pushing himself so hard in training this week he had a recurrence.

But he remains defiant and determined to be back in time to help Dons clinch a top-six finish and Cup glory.

He said: "I was lucky to be given a chance with Aberdeen after being out so long.

"After that there was no way I could turn down an offer to stay.

"I didn't even bother to speak to my agent about any interest from clubs down south.

"Aberdeen is a great club with great fans. There is a lot to look forward to and hopefully we'll get success."
