"I am absolutely delighted; I had a couple of weeks, pretty much the same predicament as earlier on in the season, where I was without a club but I am delighted to have joined Aberdeen and really look forward to the games coming up.

"I just need to get playing and get games, Craig and Archie showed a lot of interest in trying to get me up here so that made it quite easy for myself. It makes it an easy decision when a manager wants you.

"My aim is to play games and help the team get some wins to move us up the table. Hopefully I can chip in with a few goals but the most important thing is that the team gets the results.

"The deal gives me a bit of stability. When you are signing short term deals you don't know where you are going to be after that, there is no security. It is a good move for me. I am delighted to be up here. I am looking forward to the next couple of seasons.

"I have not seen much of Aberdeen this season. The weather has not changed much up here though! I did see the highlights from the game on Saturday and I thought the boys did very well. Hopefully we can kick on from that result.

"The aim is top six and to finish as high up the table as we can. It will be difficult as there are a lot of teams doing well but if we can get on a good run we can move up the table. We have had some good results lately.

"I know a few of the boys. Mark Reynolds, Jamie Langfield and have obviously played with against some of the guys in the past so I think I will settle in quickly.

"When I was at Motherwell and Rangers it was always difficult place to come and it is a big club. A lot of teams raise their game coming up here. It is a big club and it's the big clubs you want to beat. There are a lot of young players coming through here and if I can help in anyway then obviously I will pass anything onto them I can and will be happy to assist in their development.

"I am available to play tomorrow. The boys had a good result last week so we will just have to see what the manager wants to do."

Stephen has been allocated squad number 20 for the rest of the season.
