Aberdeen set to make Russell Anderson a Don again despite injury lay-off
CRAIG BROWN last night confirmed he is looking to take Russell Anderson back to Aberdeen - even if he can't play for the next two months.
The veteran Dons manager is looking to strengthen his squad and had told chief executive Duncan Fraser to re-sign the 33-year-old defender.
Anderson has been using the facilities at his hometown club since the end of last year to recover from a hamstring injury that prompted Derby to show him the door.
He is still some way off adding to his 280 appearances for his beloved club but the Pittodrie gaffer is still keen to snap up the former Scotland star.
Brown said: "Everybody knows Russell is a great player. The problem is that he's been hit by injuries over the years but he has such a great pedigree and we want to help him get back.
"There's little money to throw around but I hope we can do some sort of deal to keep him. His experience would be valuable."
