Thursday evening (13th May) saw the last of four well attended consultation events, with stakeholders and supporters clubs being invited to view the indicative proposals for the new arena alongside board members of AFC and club consultants at Pittodrie.

All in all the consultation events, held at Pittodrie and the Thistle Hotel Altens, have been considered as a great success with a significant level of feedback received from all involved, from club supporters to those members of the community who live in and around the area of the proposed arena.

In total, approximately 700 people viewed the plans at the events over the four days, and at least 50% of those have provided immediate feedback with the rest taking feedback forms away with them to consider the proposals further.

A mixed feedback has been received, and there have been a number of constructive comments put forward in relation to how proposals could be enhanced. The club recognises that this is a major proposal and wishes to highlight that they have both the supporters and the local community at the centre of their considerations when proposing this new arena.

Consultation does not stop there, with displays remaining in place in the Central and Cove libraries as well as in The Trinity Mall off Union Street until 19 May 2010. Feedback forms are available at these locations for those who were unable to attend the four drop in events already organised. We would also like to remind you that emails can be sent to the project email address at arena@afc.co.uk. Any comments should be received by 14th June 2010.

Moving forward, the club and their consultants will be working tirelessly to review all of the comments received, and consider where these can be accommodated in the final proposals to be submitted to Aberdeen City Council as part of a planning application scheduled for July.
