AIFF SEMI FINAL ABERDEEN 4 DUNDEE 1

Pittodrie first team players Sone Aluko, Chris Maguire, Peter Pawlett, Michael Paton and Sammy Stewart looked on as the Dons 14's eased into tomorrow's AIFF final at Seaton Park with a 4-1 victory over plucky Dundee. They now face Dundee United who ended the hopes of Deveronvale with a similar scoreline.

After Kieran Forbes had gone close following a mazy run, Aberdeen took the lead in the 8th minute when Jamie Hamilton flashed a low cross in from the left which defender Calum URQUHART could only prod into his own net.

The imperious Cameron Smith then brought out a great save from Dens keeper Josh Gorton before the same player slotted home number two after ten minutes when he latched on to a cross from Taylor Henry.

Three minutes later, Aberdeen grabbed a third when Smith flashed the ball across from the right which fell to Forbes, who sent the ball back in at pace for SMITH to thump past Gorton.

With twenty minutes on the clock SMITH completed his hat-trick with a fine angled drive from the left that gave Gorton no chance.

A Declan Fitzpatrick run after 24 minutes ended when he was pulled back and Gorton was on hand to push Greg Mitchell's well struck free kick away for a corner.

Smith thought he'd fired a fourth when he netted at the second attempt after a Mitchell free kick but the effort was chalked off for offside.

Three minutes before the break Smith, who was rested for the second half, headed over from close range when he met a Forbes cross.

Dundee came out fighting in the second half and Dean Easton did exceptionally well to push an Adam McWilliam screamer away for a corner. The Dens Parkers persistence was rewarded after 52 minutes when Connor McLEOD knocked home a free-kick to reduce the deficit, awarded after Easton was forced to handle a back pass.

Despite chances at both ends, there was no further scoring and both sides made several changes as the game petered out.
