Turriff United v Aberdeen U19s

Aberdeen U19s put in another very encouraging performance this evening against new Highland League side Turriff United in their second pre-season game.
The young Dons got off to the perfect start when in the opening minute Callum McRobbie set up Nicky Clark and the midfielder scored with a good finish.
Aberdeen passed the ball about well and had a few chances but they could not add to the scoreline until the 27 minute. Mitch Megginson was brought down in the box and the striker got up himself to take the spot kick and he scored without a problem.
Credit to Turriff who fought back after going two down and Noble scored on 33 minutes. After that Turriff only had two other clear chances either side of half time but Scott Bain saved well on both occasions.
Into the second half and Aberdeen continued to play some nice football without scoring. On 62 minutes Neil Cooper brought on Jamie Masson, Conor Deveney and Nico Gibson and six minutes later the two subs combined to put the Dons 3-1 up. From a corner Masson flicked it on and Gibson powered in an excellent header.
Neil then brought on Jordon Brown and Jack Grimmer. Grimmer had a chance to score his first goal for Aberdeen but he missed a penalty only two minutes after coming on, the keeper saving his shot. However the impressive young striker did get a deserved goal in the final minute. After good pressing from the Dons on the right hand side of the field the ball fell to Grimmer on the edge of the box and he crashed a superb shot in off the post.
Aberdeen are still in the process of arranging a pre-season game for Saturday afternoon. As soon as the opposition and venue have been confirmed we will post the info on RedWeb.
