Aberdeen today confirmed the arrival of Sunderland left back Dan Smith on a three year deal along with Dutch striker Dyron Daal, who joins the Pittodrie club as an amateur until the end of the current season.

Nineteen year old Smith, a former England youth internationalist, goes straight into the squad for tomorrow's trip to St. Mirren at Love Street. Smith and Daal, who have been allocated squad numbers 17 and 26 respectively, were unveiled at a press conference this morning at Pittodrie.

Dan Smith said: "I feel privileged to be wanted at a great club like this. I feel I will fit in here and am looking forward to the season ahead. Aberdeen give young players a chance and that's what attracted me to the club.

"I have 20 caps for England and I would like to add to that and force my way into the England U21 team."

Dyron Daal said: "I am very happy to get my chance to come and play for Aberdeen and to play at this level. Karim Touzani, who I know from my time at Ajax and Utrecht, confirmed what I already knew about the club that it is a great place and there is a great team spirit."

Meanwhile fans travelling to Paisley tomorrow are advised to turn off the M8 at junction 29 (St. James) and follow the signs. For coach and car parking take the second right - Clark Street - to the industrial estate where ample parking is available.
